EducationThe University of Texas at Arlington - BA, Linguistics
ExperienceI am a tutor with extensive experience studying and teaching English. I graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington with a bachelor's degree in Linguistics. My teaching experience primarily stems from volunteering to teach ESL students. I am comfortable teaching a variety of English related subjects such as Reading, Writing, Grammar, and Phonics at the elementary, middle, and high school levels. My philosophy as a tutor emphasizes the fact that every student is unique. In order for students to reach their potential, it is imperative that they are provided with a stimulating and secure environment. This type of environment allows them to grow at an intellectual, physical, emotional, and social level. My goal as a teacher is to assist my students in reaching their potential by providing an atmosphere that is safe, while simultaneously encouraging students to take risks. In order for students to reach their full potential, it is imperative that they be given opportunities to think outside the box and recognize their uniqueness. Students are at their best when they are not stifled, but rather allowed to express themselves and share ideas with other students. In my free time, I enjoy speed skating, attending cultural events, drawing, and creative writing.
